24th Annual Mustangs & Mustangs…Legends Havin’ Fun
Postponed until 2022
As you know, our Mustangs & Mustangs show is held in concert with the Carlisle Events Auction and other events and was planned for Saturday, February 20, 2021. While we made tentative plans during the summer and throughout the fall to continue with our show, we knew we would have to wait until later in the year to confirm plans with Carlisle Events due to COVID-19 concerns.
Carlisle Events contacted us a couple of weeks ago and explained that they were going to hold their auction, but only certified bidders and sellers would be allowed at the auction. There would be no spectators allowed.
Nor would there be any food vendors, merchandise vendors, car corals, swap meet, or their own car show. Also, there would be no support personnel available as we have had in the past. Carlisle Events said that if we wanted to hold our show, it was up to us. After a great deal of thought and consideration we decided that we will postpone our show until February 2022.
We considered many things in making this decision. First and foremost, the health and safety of IMPC workers and others attending the show. We cannot guarantee that whoever shows up at the show will be healthy or that they will wear a mask or social distance. The virus vaccines for the general population will probably not be available until late spring or early summer at the earliest.
We were not having a plane this year due to past weather problems and the increase in cost. There would not be any food available, port-a-lets would be limited, no side attractions such as merchandise vendors, no one would be allowed into the auction to watch.
If we opened registration, we would have to refund all registration fees paid to us if someone got sick and wanted to cancel their registration. We would ask that anyone who showed any symptoms prior to leaving home that day cancel and hope they stayed away.
For your information, NCRS and MOPAR have also postponed their shows for that weekend.
This was a difficult decision. We are all anxious to resume normal activities and social events. Given that the show would not be anything like what we have had in the past and the uncertainty over where we would be with COVID-19 concerns, we decided to postpone.
We hope you have a healthy and Merry Christmas. See you in 2022.
